WANDERWAY PUBLISHING HOUSE
Hi. This is me. Adam. As a six-year-old. I had just conquered swimming and also the world.
Well, maybe not the world yet. So, years down the road, I set out to conquer the world. I’ve been traveling ever since.
This is me eighteen years later. With a little more worldly experience and only slightly less obnoxious. If you want to know more about my story, you’re in the right place because on this site you can literally read all my stories. Well, most of them, anyway.
You can also find a short blurb about how I got started in traveling. But this page is not for traveling. This page is dedicated to my other passion in life; writing.
I decided to become a writer at the age of eighteen. But like most eighteen-year-olds, I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off without a clue of what I wanted. After that initial desire burned out, I decided I wanted to be a writer again by the age of twenty-one. And then, again, at twenty-two. Fortunately, it finally stuck.
I started Wanderway Publishing House in 2015 when it was just a blog. It has become so much more than that for me since then.
Anyway, normally I don’t follow the crowd, but I’ve noticed a lot of people do this ‘about me’ blurb-thing in third-person, so I ought to give it a go. . .
Adam J. Cheshier
For the longest time, Cheshier wanted to make a career of his writing. Blog writing was ho-hum with too many rules. He craved a freer art.
That is when he began writing novels. He found a passion for writing fiction in a Roman à clef style which he could tell his own stories through fictional characters. He could give them personalities that better fit his travel stories he’d occurred and accrued. In his novels, he blends his real life with an imagination no one would expect of him.
It is the perfect form of storytelling for someone who doesn’t like talking about himself; you know, the type of person who is so humble that he would write about himself in third-person, like, right now.
He’s realized that his inspiration to write comes when he least expects it. Inspiration mostly stemming from, but not limited to, the people he meets while out on the road.
Like thousands of others, his idols such as Jack Kerouac, Kurt Cobain, and Matty Healy have all touched him and his style in one way or another. They push a different personality out of him which is reflected in his novels.
You can usually find Cheshier writing in a home alone. It’s never the same home and rarely even the same country, but it’s always peaceful.
Distractions are his worse enemy. Even the music needs to be right or else it becomes a distraction. You’ll find a healthy mix of John Mayer, Bon Iver, Mumford & Sons, and just about any other conductive-to-writing genre on his go-to ‘writing playlists’.
When he’s stuck at home struggling for inspiration, he’ll usually rely on YouTube documentaries or movies on exploration, such as Into the Wild, to cure his writer’s block.
He loves reading. Mostly travel writing. Tales from the Beat Generation and Lost Generation are his favorite. To him, Kerouac is king.
Cheshier will publish his debut novel, Summer of ’92, in November of 2018. You can support him by purchasing the book in either paperback or electronically (or both).
